Description
The L6219 DIP-24 Stepper Motor Driver IC is a bipolar motor driver designed for controlling bipolar stepper motors and can also be used for bidirectional control of two DC motors. It integrates dual full-bridge output stages along with current sensing, PWM current regulation, protection diodes, and thermal shutdown, reducing the number of external components required in a motor-control circuit.
The L6219 supports a motor supply voltage from 10V to 46V, while each output winding can handle up to 750mA continuous current and up to 1A peak startup current. The device supports half-step, full-step, and microstepping modes, making it suitable for different stepper motor control requirements.
The DIP version is a 24-pin through-hole package (PDIP/DIP-24). The device includes separate motor outputs, sense-resistor connections, comparator inputs, phase inputs, logic inputs, reference-voltage inputs, and ground connections. The logic supply is typically 4.75V to 5.25V, with logic HIGH recognized from approximately 2.4V and logic LOW up to 0.8V.
